Disclaimer: This is all speculation based on what Jesus said in Matthew 26:53.

I had a thought a while ago, but then I buried it and forgot about it. Part of the reason is because I thought I was weird for thinking this, but it’s pretty cool.

Jesus in Matthew 26:50-53 is being arrested. I’m assuming there was some pushing and shoving. Somebody then draws a sword, then somebody loses an ear, and then the person who drew the sword was told to put the sword back in its place. Very dramatic. Alot going on here. But then Jesus says something here that I couldn’t look over anymore. He says “Or do you think that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve ^[o]legions of angels?”. The key words here are “More”, “Legions”, “Angels”…………Why????? In roman culture, which dominated the region at the time, a Legion is anywhere between 5,000 to 6,000 soldiers. So did Jesus basically confirmed that there are at least 60,000 active angles?. You can take it a step further when you realize that this number may very well represent the amount of angels that didn’t rebel with Satan. If the 2/3rds that didnt get kicked out equalls 60,000, then maybe the 1/3rd that did get kicked out was at least 20,000.

Using Chat Gpt I was able to find out that if you spread 20,000 people across the earths most populated areas, there would be a person every 7.5 miles. This number of miles apart of course decreases the more you increase the amount of people to spread. Now these aren’t the definite but possibilities. We don’t know how many angels are in heaven and here on earth ….. nor do we know the amount of evil spirits out there upholding the agenda and influence of the kingdom of darkness. It does leave me to wonder though how many of them gather in our cities, neighborhoods, blocks, spreading division, rumor, chaos, all that bad stuff. On the flip side God and his forces outnumber them, but we have to be willing to collab with God. 1 Corinthians 3:9 says we are “Co-laborers” with God. He partners with us, but we have to be willing to partner with him as well. That’s how we all win.
